A Look Back at the 3rd Annual Brain Awareness Event

On March 13, 2025, our community gathered for the 3rd Annual Brain Awareness Event, "Take Charge of Your Brain – It’s Kind of a Big Deal," at the STEM Innovation Center, focusing on brain health through interactive sessions. Attendees explored practical ways to support lifelong brain fitness, including movement, mindfulness, nutrition, and cognitive wellness.

The day kicked off with a Brain Awareness Week field trip for 80+ students from NEW LEAF Prep, featuring three interactive sessions on brain functioning and care. They enjoyed expert discussions, hands-on demos, and Q&A opportunities, making it an eye-opening experience.

In the afternoon, community members engaged in fun brain health topics, including:

🧠 Celestial Sound Meditation – Sound healing for stress and focus.
🧠 "Our Aging Brains" Presentation – Strategies for cognitive aging.
🧠 Brain-Healthy Cooking Demo – Nutrition tips for brain health.

🧠 Rock Steady Boxing & Empowerment Dance – Exercise sessions to boost brain power.
🧠 Treble Alliance Irish Dancers Performance – Dance showcasing rhythm's cognitive benefits.
📚 Brown County Library Bookmobile – Selection of brain health reads.
🔬 Inflatable Walk-Through Brain – An up-close look at brain workings.

Attendees visited local resource booths and enjoyed food from the Grounded Café truck, making for a day of learning and connection.
